In 1970 the late grandpa Sjoukes changed parts of his horticulture farm into campsite. Little by little the
camping transformed into its contemporary form. Today his children and some of his grandchildren still live there,
managing and maintaining the campsite. Wim and Marja Sjoukes do most of the work, together with their daughter
Linda and her partner Willi. The other Sjoukes children - Joost, Ruud and Julia - stand in every now and then.
We welcome you to our campground!
Not only the surroundings are green, the campsite itself also becomes greener and greener in terms of sustainability. The sun provides us with electricity and hot water for your shower and the toilets are flushed with rainwater. The machinery we use for maintenance also runs on this solar generated electricity where possible.
Camping Ketjil is situated in the midst of the dunes of the island of Voorne. This ancient landscape has a rich history of cultivation. Original homesteads from the early 20th century and their small surrounding farm lands still reside within the dune ecosystem, bordered by large protected nature areas. The diverse environment is very suitable to explore on foot or bicycle. The North Sea and the lakes around Oostvoorne and Brielle are close for those fond of beach and water sports. The campsite is open from April 1st until October 1st. You are not allowed to bring your car directly on the campsite. Instead, you can park for free on our adjacent parking lot. Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed. (We’re sorry!)
